A part-time job, just 5 minutes from home
When Malika’s children reached the ages of 11 and 4, she decided the time was right to get back to work. But it had to be part-time, and close to home so she could manage the school run.
Malika had extensive experience as a PA in France, but felt nervous about the whole ‘getting back to work’ process and where to start. She was particularly worried about finding a job that would match her skills and allow her quality time with her family. In addition, she was concerned that English isn’t her first language – something she felt might put employers off.
Malika heard about Women Like Us through her local community centre. She received help from career advisors who helped her re-assess her skills and understand what a valuable candidate she was.
She then found her perfect job just five minutes from home, as a part-time PA with The Whittington Hospital NHS Trust.
